Contrived Web Bugs, page 1/2
We've put together a couple of pages that include Web bugs so that
Bugnosis users can see what a Web bug looks like in a controlled
environment.
In order to see them, you need to:
First, click here. This will
set a cookie on your computer from the web site www.cs.uml.edu. (Bugnosis ignores
images that don't have cookies associated with them, so we have to create
a cookie in order to show you a Web bug). The cookie is set to last
for six weeks. Everyone gets the same cookie value, so it can't
easily be used to identify you. We need JavaScript enabled to set
the cookie this way, but then you can disable it if you want (most people
leave it enabled).
Then click here to proceed to the next page that
contains the Web bugs. They will cause your computer to quietly
contact www.cs.uml.edu and make an
entry in its log files. Bugnosis should alert you that if found a
Web bug while this was happening.
